Doll Making

Making dolls is magical. When I was a girl, I watched my mother make Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls for a friend, that had just had a baby. I was fascinated and she made me one from the scraps. I still have that doll, Charlotte, and both of my daughters played with her, when they were little. I began making dolls for my children as a you mother, newly introduced to Waldorf education and the natural, beautiful toys that graced the classrooms. That was more than thirty years ago, and I haven’t stopped since. Doll making remains one of my favorite creative works, as it encompasses so many other handwork modes, and they have a simple, elegant beauty with natural materials and neutral expressions. They are timeless.
